Baked Bean Diet Works Nicely For Nell

WHEN DOCTORS told Neil King tbat he risked bowel cancer be decided to change his diet and lose weight.

Tbe Essex man bas now lost 10 stone (140 1bs) in nine montbs - by eating six cans of baked beans a day.  King, 40, has munched his way tbrougb more than half a ton of beans in tbat time, reported the Daily Mirror.

Tbe mechanic serves tbem up for his breakfast, lunch and dinner and his weight has fallen from 30 stone in June to just under 20 stone today.

But tbe dad of four claims downing more tban 1,500 cans of beans has not given him wind.  At least not since be stopped eating tbem on toast.  Neil, from Halstead, said: “When people first heard I think tbey were scared to light a match nearby but I think my body has just got used to it.  Beans on white bread had me trumping non-stop so I gave that up and I haven’t looked back.  Some people think I’m mad but I love the taste and the weight has been dropping off.”

Neil used to eat a pack of biscuitshfor breakfast, two Mars bars for a mid-morning snack and a full English breakfast for lunch.

He would then snack on two packets of crisps and have a roast dinner for tea.  After tbat, he would down up to eight pints of lager in tbe pub and grab a kebab on tbe way home. 

He decided to diet after doctors issued the bowel cancer warning, the disease that killed his mother.

Note to self: Can’t decide if I should categorize as World Nuttiness or Medical…
