Maybe the nest should relocate…
Geographically that is, not electronically. You know, the hard way — boxes, heavy appliances, rental truck, leaving all the hard work we’ve put in to the place, address changes, new doctors, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Our vehicle insurance rates have almost doubled in the past 2 years and our home owner’s insurance doubled plus $100 two years ago.
Now THIS in today’s Orlando Sentinel newspaper. Our Senators Nelson and Martinez want to make the state, and the country for that matter, a welfare state for illegals, and the state legislature will undoubtedly allow even more price gouging by insurance companies who are having a field day of it all. Seems regular citizens are ripe for the picking.
When we retired from the Air Force the only reason we didn’t move to Austin, Texas was the lack of a suitable job there at the time. Maybe now, in retirement, …
We have to do SOMETHING. At this rate we’ll have to deed the house over to an insurance company to pay the premiums in a few years, despite the fact that we are 60 miles inland.
After 27 moves in my lifetime I swore when we moved here it would be our last. I planned to die on my screened patio with insulated roof running the full width of the back of the house. The flag flies nicely out front and the guava tree bears almost more fruit than I can use or give away. My friend 2 houses over has the same distribution problem with his coffee, papaya, mango, and avocado. It’s just plain comfortable here.
Or it used to be.
What a crock.
Leave it to the greedy to spoil anything they are allowed to touch.

There’s a house across the street from me that’s for sale. And we don’t get hurricanes here!
