The Beginning

So why does one begin to leave notes that others may eventually read? Ego? Looking for validation? Attention?      Why does one choose to add risk to his life by sharing thoughts and ideas, thereby inviting disagreement, perhaps even hostility?

I suppose there are as many answers as there are responders. I’m not even sure why I have chosen to do so, and I will readily admit that I’ve opined in the past that doing so was a just plain dumb idea. Perhaps I’ll discover the reason farther down the road. For that matter, I’ll have to see how far that road takes me.

The beginning of something new… ________________

But where to begin? I suppose that depends on the audience, and for now, it is singularly I.  I suspect several subjects will emerge shortly — fanatical Islam (super egos, intolerance, violence, and mayhem anyone?), a view of a politician or two (not generally held in high esteem here), a long suppressed desire to expound on leadership principles (have sometimes wished I’d written a book — one of those “_____ for Dummies” pubs, and a few other things, in hopes that by typing them I will reflect more, and possibly differently on them.

But first comes a walk through the forest of software configuration. I’ve taken a brief look around and have found some familiar trees, but there are indeed some strange species about.
